In case it wasn’t clear from what the twins are saying, Diana can’t see the ghosts wandering around the old battlefield. Phoebe’s ties to Death let her see them without any effort, but Diana’s too tied to Life to see them unless they’ve manifested.

I have to say that I’m enjoying David doing the coloring now. He’s a lot more creative than I am, and as you’ll see in the next pages, will actually use shading techniques.

The move to greyscale pages has changed quite a few things, and it’s likely to change more as I get a better grip on what GIMP can do. (I’d use Photoshop, but the version of Photoshop Elements I have won’t run on Vista, and I’m too cheap to buy a new one.)

One thing that has changed is Phoebe’s magic. When everything was just line art, the fact Phoebe’s magic was in monochrome wasn’t too big a deal, but now it’d look really bland next to Diana’s, so I’m working on ways to put a few touches of color into Phoebe’s mojo, while still keeping it kind of “deathy.”
