Slow River 2.2

Ah, flashbacks. You gotta love them.
Isn’t the crowd effect on panel 1 cool?
Violins are hard to draw.
I like Phoebe’s little half-jacket. What are those called, by the way? It’s not a bolero cut, which would end at the waist. Phoebe also has a pair of lips appliquéd to the back of her jeans. Phoebe can be a slightly crude girl from time to time.
Next week, I’ll be at Gen Con. Not in any official capacity, mind you, but I’ll be there. If you like board games, and you happen to run across me, I’ll be selling one. You can learn more at Shiftways.com.

PAGE 2
Panel 1 (Location, Day/Night)
View from the stage to a table down front where Gerrard sits, watching the show. Phoebe is in the back (hence at the front of the panel) and Diana is between her and Gerrard.
Phoebe: He started showing up at every show, always sitting in the same place no matter where we were. He had this magnetism around him. Our eyes kept being drawn to him, and it was difficult to look away.
That should have been our first warning sign.
Panel 2 (Location, Day/Night)
A few guys clustered around Phoebe while, nearby, Gerrard is holding Diana’s hand to kiss the knuckles.
Phoebe: Most of the guys who came to the shows wanted to score with me. No real surprise. I’m the one who flirts with the crowd and puts herself on display. It’s all part of the game, part of the show.
Gerrard only had eyes for Diana. I thought it was great.
Panel 3 (Location, Day/Night)
Diana and Gerrard at dinner - Gerrard in a nice suit/tux, Diana in a Little Black Dress.
Phoebe: He was such a gentleman. So polite and attentive. Gentle with her too. I thought she’d finally found someone. We’d always talked about it, her finding a guy and settling down. She’d be the one with the white picket fence, two point five kids, a dog, three goldfish and a garden that would make others look like weed-filled lots. I’d be crazy Aunt Phoebe, bringing joyful chaos and making her kids scream in delight and get them wound up on candy and ice cream before driving off into the sunset again.
