Panel 2 looks really good, but I have to say that Panel 3 is the best one for this issue.

We’re almost at the end of Slow River Issue 3. When we hit Page 26, we’ll be taking a hiatus from the comic, but we’ll still be posting stuff on Thursdays, so keep coming back!

Panel 3 today was drawn entirely by Lisa. Give her a big hand, everybody.

I’m such a cruel partner. I’m making David have to draw more and more complicated scenes. Just wait until you see Page 23, I’m so bad.

Evidentally, Diana sleeps in the nude, at least sometimes. And yes, panel 3 was kind of difficult. Thanks for asking.

Phoebe gets a buzz of the dead. That’s… interesting.

On a more serious note, we’re taking this opportunity to do a bit more world building here. There’s many differences between how Diana wields magic and how Phoebe does what she does.

Oops, the bed is facing the wrong way in panel 2. It should be facing toward the TV.

Once again, David has done a great job with what little written direction I gave him. Generally, I just give him the text as I’m too lazy to write in what should be depicted.

Actually, I leave the decision of what to draw up to him. He’s got a much better idea of what he can and cannot do, and knows more about using images to depict narrative than I.

It looks neat where the Colonel disappears, doesn’t it?

We’re closing in on the end of issue 3. I’m pretty excited. I figured we’d both get to busy or have some kind of terrible creative meltdown a long time ago.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how Phoebe deals with the dead. She’s so irreverent, she acts like she doesn’t have much respect for them. But what does she think about them personally? I really can’t say. Ghosts used to be people, so they have their own personalities, so it’s really like dealing with a person, except for they’re dead.

Hmm… not much to say. I started doing Diana’s third eye a little differently. I’m trying to give it some depth.
