I really like panel 1. David can really come up with some interesting images.

Now the magic stuff is starting to really heat up. I never really liked it when the pages were line-art. The tiny bursts of color in an otherwise stark environment were too jarring for my taste. To get it to look good, I would have needed to do a lot more shading with the pen, which would make pages take many more hours, and I think I would have needed to put the color in by hand so it fit with the feel of the pages more.

Now, I think it looks a lot better. There’s a lot more depth.
