Slow River 2.24

Comments from LisaNot much for me to say here. Panel 2, as David mentions below, was kind of difficult to do. Part of that is my fault, as when I write the scripts, I don’t always take into account the problems David might have portraying the scene. However, I have confidence that David will complain and tell me it can’t be done. :)

Comments from the ArtistThe foreshortened panel came out pretty well, don’t you think? The dog looks kind of like a mutant, but hey, he’s a dog spirit? He laughs at three-dimensional space. Ha-ha!

I’m really happy with the dialog placement this time. Lisa and I have a hard time coordinating that, and mostly it’s my fault for not thinking about where the dialog will have to go. Panel 2 is a case in point. I ended up using the bird’s eye view because that way, the dog, Phoebe, and Diana could all share a panel without Diana being in the way of Phoebe’s dialog.

Of course, I COULD just draw more panels, but that’s just crazy talk. (And seriously, I kind of like the 3 long panels per page. It reads well on a screen, and has the feeling of a letter-box movie. Which is entirely secondary to the fact that it means I only have to do three drawings per week. :)
