It was a real challenge to try to tell the story about what happened to Diana through the flashback. People don’t think of every little thing that happened, they think in images and feelings and such. If this were strictly prose, it’d be easy to write up everything and insert descriptions of what’s going on. For a comic, you have to take into account the picture. David and I worked together really closely on the flashback pages to make sure everything came out right.
I’d also like to say that when David complains again about how his work sucks, you should send him a big, juicy raspberry.
If you read my blog (davidgoodner.com) then you’ve already seen the cool eye effect on Phoebe. I think it’s a little cooler than just having her eyes turn black.
In other news, grand pianos are harder to draw than violins. I think that one came out fairly well. The limo is cool, too. It’s based on a real one I found with a Google image search.
I am now at Gen Con. Well, technically I am now at home on July 31, writing this entry, but by the time you read it, I’ll be at Gen Con. This is my first Gen Con ever. I’m very excited.
