Slow River 1.1 Script

Friday, June 8th, 2007

We’re finally getting off our collective butts to do the off-day updates, For now, we’re starting with the script pages for Slow River #1. When Slow River #2 starts (which should be the end of July, beginning of August, depending on how much of a break we’re going to give ourselves between the books), we’ll be adding in other stuff for the off-days. At the very minimum, we’ll have something up on Sundays, as we promised a long time ago.

Anyway, here’s the first script page, for your perusal! (The format’s going to be off, but rest assured we’re using (almost) proper script formatting, so as not to offend David’s sense of order. :) )

DOMINO GIRLS
SLOW RIVER : EPISODE 1.1
By Lisa Hartjes and David Goodner

PAGE 1
Panel 1 (Outdoors, midday)
An SUV in the distance, driving down a highway in rural America.

Narration: Twins, different as night and day, drive through the Virginia countryside, toward the town of Slow River
Narration: Diana is behind the wheel. Phoebe is catching a nap.

Panel 2 (Outdoors, midday)
Closer view of the van, showing Diana driving, Phoebe sleeping in the passenger seat, vague impressions of boxes and stuff in the back of the SUV.

Narration: Behind them is a cloud of hurt. Before them, a storm of troubles.
Diana: Hey sleepyhead. Wake up.
Phoebe: My turn to drive?
Diana: Not yet. We’re getting low on gas. Keep an eye out for a gas station.

Panel 3 (Outdoors, midday)
View from in the van, where they can see an old, faded sign announcing a gas station at the next exit.

Phoebe: That sign looks really old.
Diana: Yeah, but we’re hovering over empty.
Narration: Ain’t that always the way?
